Unique Christmas Ornaments

Every year when November rolls around a lot of people start thinking about Christmas decorations. Some people like to have the most unique Christmas decorations. Who wants to do the same boring thing every year, right?

A lot of people go crazy and cover their home with all sorts weird and wacky decorations. There’s a lot to choose from and this site is about some of the most interesting and varied of them.

The first thing to think about is the color scheme. Every one does red and green so to be unique you need to think outside of the traditional Christmas color scheme box. Fortunately there are a lot of colors other than red and green that also suit the Christmas season. A good example is purple.

Every year I see so many trees that are decorated with the usual baubles that it is a little thrill for me when I find something a little different or something that expresses my personality or the personality of someone that I know. I’m a Star Wars fan (who isn’t?) so having these sorts of decorations on my tree and around my home gives Christmas a bit more of a special feeling.  There’s ornaments out there for everybody if you just look. I have discovered that  the best places to find them are online as there is so much more variety.

The truly unique Christmas Ornaments are ones that are hand made so look for craft ideas in home decorating magazines and books. The best thing about making your own decorations is that you don’t have to blindly follow instructions. You can go all out and experiment with your own ideas, just use the instructions as a general guide line and follow your own crafty instincts.

For this reason a lot of unique Christmas ornaments can become heirlooms. Especially if they’ve been given to you by parents or grandparents or they’ve cost a bit of money. Most importantly your unique Christmas decorations should add atmosphere to decorations you already display and should of course enhance the spirit of Christmas. Enjoy your visit and I hope you find something you like

12 Days of Christmas Ornaments

The popular song “The Twelve Days of Christmas Ornaments” is sometimes thought of as a nonsense song for children. There are others that suggest it may be a song of Christian instruction dating back to the wars during the 16th century. Apparently it contains mnemonic references to teach youngsters about the catechism.

The actual twelve days of Christmas is one of the most misunderstood of Christian beliefs and it is not the twelve before Christmas but the twelve days after Christmas starting on December 26th.  They continue on for 12 days until the epiphany on January 6th. This represents the length of time it took for the Three Wise Men to reach the manger and see the Baby Jesus after his birth.  Some cultures even give gifts every day during this period. I don’t know about you but I have trouble figuring out what to give everyone for just one day.

Here’s what I could find on what the various verses mean in the song with a pikkie of  an ornament portraying the verse in the song.

Twelve Drummers Drumming symbolizes the 12 points of doctrine in  the Apostle’s Creed.

In a nutshell here they are.

1.  I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of Heaven and earth.
2.  and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord
3.  who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary,
4.  suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried:  He descended into Hell:
5.  the third day He rose again from the dead.
6.  He ascended into Heaven,
7.  and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.
8.  From thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
9.  I believe in the Holy Spirit,
10. one holy Christian Church, the fellowship of saints,
11. the forgiveness of sins,
12. the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.
